【過去における表彰】
2012年 5月 社団法人日本公園緑地協会より、多年にわたる公園緑地分野における国際的な交流を推進した多大な貢献を称え、第20回佐藤国際交流賞（国際交流功労賞）を授与される。
2017年 4月 2016～2017期A Design Award ランドスケーププランイング及びガーデンデザインカテゴリーにおいて、「Wareth Gardens – Natural Landscape」が金賞を授与される（イタリア、ミラノ）。
2017年10月 京都市長より、京都市とキエフ市の姉妹都市交流に多大な尽力をし、国際交流による「世界文化自由都市」の実現に大きく寄与した功績により表彰を受ける。

受賞者の業績
氏の業績は、以下のとおりである。
専門分野のひとつとする古庭園の調査、保存修理の現場で培った知識と経験をもとに、数多くの伝統的日本庭園の作庭を行う一方で、屋上庭園やアトリウム庭園、また、自然再生などの現代造園や時代的に要請される分野でも多くの成果をあげている。取り分け、世界各国で日本庭園の作庭や日本の庭園文化に関する講演を多数行い、我が国の伝統文化を世界に普及させる事に多大の寄与をした。
